Bruce Edwards

Bruce Edwards is a modern-day jazz guitar virtuoso. His blues-inflected solo lines hint at George Benson, while his chord and melody arrangements highlight his signature sound and are simply breath taking. You can hear Bruce swing soulfully through jazz standards on the Times Square N&R platform, or at the Grand Central 4,5 and 6 station. No matter Bruce's location, pedestrians are always groovin along!
An alumnus of the legendary Sun Ra Arkestra, Bruce has played with many of the jazz greats in a variety of settings. He has also worked in the studio with a long roster of artists, including G.E. Smith (of Saturday Night Live Band fame), and leads a trio which plays at jazz clubs around the city. "Knobby" is an original composition which transports the listener down to the beaches of Brasil with its infectious Samba groove. Bruce is joined on this track by fellow subway jazzmen John Gunther (saxophone), Boris Koslov (bass), Denton Darien (piano) and New York session man Phoenix Rivera (drums).
