Even those who don't speak Spanish can appreciate the beautiful and instantly infectious melody of "Seduccion." Equally moving is Yily's expressive voice, which conveys warmth and emotion in any language. Not to be overlooked, Yily's pop/classical guitar playing masterfully weaves Flamenco lines around his passionate lyrics. One glance at the face of any passerby, and it's apparent that their heart has been touched by this up-and-coming balladeer's compositions.
Six years ago, Yily (pronounced Jee-Lee) moved with his family from the Dominican Republic to the Bronx. Today, he can be found playing and singing on the A,C & E line at 42nd street (his favorite spot), as well as performing regularly with his four-piece band in New York City clubs. When he's not performing, Yily teaches guitar, violin and piano. He is currently laying the groundwork for his own music school in Manhattan
Pete Bremin's uplifting soprano saxophone lines joyfully answer the call
of Yily's romantic melody. This magical interplay is the perfect example
of the music that can be created when two gifted subway musicians meet for
the first time.
